    Heroic Gear Guide

    What is Heroic Gear?
    Basic Information:
★Heroic gear is end game gear that you can start farming yourself from level 85 and using from level 90.
★The heroic gear set includes 5 pieces (weapon, top, bottom, gloves and shoes).
★In the "end game gear hierarchy"...
    ARMOR: SD < 4D < Heroic < Elrianode
    WEAPON: SD < 4D < Heroic/Raid < Void
    How to get Heroic Gear
Heroic gear is obtained from heroic dungeons.
(Dungeon tab -> Special tab -> Heroic Dungeon)

In order to enter a heroic dungeon (besides the required item level and level), you need two heroic invitations. They drop from any boss monster in the game and can be obtained as rewards from certain quests. If you crash, disconnect, etc. at the loading screen, heroic invites will not be used. You can enter heroic dungeons for free once a day, per character.

When you enter heroic dungeon mode, it will randomly give you any dungeon in Velder to Adrian’s Palace, but the dungeon will be a lot harder. Heroic dungeons do NOT take stamina, but they do give ERP). You have a 3 resurrection stone limit. Drop rate also does NOT affect heroic dungeons.

Besides the usual dungeon drops, heroic dungeons will yield four things:
    1. Heroic Weapon Fragments

You obtain these from defeating Supreme monsters in the dungeon. Each one can drop up to 3 fragments. These can be traded to Glave for either a random weapon (240 fragments), top (110 fragments), bottom (100 fragments), gloves (90 fragments), or shoes (80 fragments) heroic piece. The pieces will be unique. When you trade for a weapon, you will get the weapon for the character you traded it on. (Ex. If you trade on a Eve, you will get a drone, if you trade on a Raven, you will get a blade.)

It is suggested that you trade to get pieces to sell and buy the pieces you need. The most profitable piece to trade for is the gloves. They cost less to trade for than the weapon or the top/bottom and there are 4 sought for effects exclusively on the gloves (explained later). After the gloves, bottom pieces are probably the next most valuable piece to trade for followed by the top piece and the weapon. Trading for shoes is highly not recommended as there are no effects specific to shoes (explained later). To emphasis again, these are only suggested guidelines, please feel trade to trade for what you deem is appropriate.

    2. Ancient Guardian Stones (blue) + Ancient Iron Stones (red)

    3. Ancient Guardian Wedges (blue) and Ancient Iron Wedges (red)

Only obtainable as a rare boss drop.
    No.4 Random Heroic Equipment
Occasionally you will obtain a random heroic piece as a boss drop. They have a chance of either being elite or unique. In regards to heroic weapons, you have a chance of obtaining a weapon for any character, regardless of what character you run on. (Ex. If you run on a Raven, you still have a chance of getting a Chung heroic weapon.)

There is a daily and weekly heroic quest.

(The daily quest requires 3 heroic dungeon clears. Upon finishing it you get 1 heroic equipment storage, 20 heroic weapon fragments and 3 heroic invitations.)

(The weekly quest requires 10 heroic dungeon clears. Upon finishing it you get 3 heroic equipment storages, 50 heroic weapon fragments and 10 heroic invitations.)
    *these quests are per character
*all rewards from the quests are bankshareable

The heroic equipment cube will randomly give you a heroic piece (for weapons, it will give you the weapon of the character you open it on. Ex. If you open the cube on a Raven, you will get a heroic weapon for Raven exclusively.) The heroic pieces have a chance of being either elite or unique.

There are now 3 Epic Quests for Heroic Dungeons. You can only do these quests once per character. You must clear the previous quest in order to proceed to the next quest.

This quest requires 1 heroic dungeon clear. Upon finishing it you get 1 [Cobo] +8 Unique Heroic Weapon Cube and 10 heroic invitations. The cube cannot be traded, resold or shared in the shared bank. It is permanent. Upon opening it, you will get a +8 r25 heroic weapon. It will either be wrath, wisdom or vision, have a random effect with a random % and a random skill with a random %. The weapon itself cannot be traded, resold or and it expires after 30 days. However, it can be bankshared.

This quest requires 5 heroic dungeon clears. Upon finishing it you get 1 [Cobo] Armor Only Magic Amulet Lv.8 and 10 heroic invitations. The amulet cannot be traded, resold or shared in the shared bank. It is permanent.

This quest requires 10 heroic dungeon clears. Upon finishing it you get 1 [Cobo] Weapon Only Magic Amulet Lv.8 and 10 heroic invitations. The amulet cannot be traded, resold or shared in the shared bank. It is permanent.

Heroic gear is tradeable, so you can buy (and trade) heroic gear from other players, however heroic gear can only be sealed once.

In conclusion, there are 4 ways to get heroic gear:
    1. As boss drops from heroic dungeons
    2. Trading heroic weapon fragments with Glave
    3. Obtaining them from heroic equipment storages
    4. Buying/trading with other players

More Detailed Information Regarding Heroic Gear
When you obtain a heroic piece, it will be unidentified. When you identify it, you will randomly get three IDs exclusive to heroic gear. There is no way to change these IDs after you identify a piece.
    Line 1 Rank
The lowest rank is 10 and the highest is 29. A higher rank on armor pieces will make you tankier, so generally rank doesn't matter as much in PVE while in PVP you'd want higher ranks. However, for the weapon, you'd want rank 29 or rank 28 regardless if you’re focused on PVP or PVE. Higher ranks on heroic pieces will also increase your average item level.
*before the July 11th 2018 update, the lowest rank was 1
    Rank 12 SD
    Rank 22 4D
Rank 20 raid weapon before the +10 physical/magical attack is factored in
Rank 29 void weapon before the physical/magical attack is factored in
For weapons, a higher rank will increase Physical Attack, Magical Attack, Physical Defense, Magical Defense and HP by a certain amount.
For top pieces and gloves, a higher rank will increase Physical Attack, Physical Defense, Magical Defense and HP by a small amount.
For bottom pieces and shoes, a higher rank will increase Magical Attack, Physical Defense, Magical Defense and HP by a small amount.
    Line 2 Effect
The second line is an effect. There are 34 possible effects.

*table from the elwiki -> https://elwiki.net/w/S-2

The following skills became unobtainable after July 11th, 2018:
Upon using Flexibility Skill, Flexibility Skill's Damage for 10 seconds +x% (5 Stacks) (Dungeon) Gloves
Upon using Tenacity Skill, Tenacity Skill's Damage for 10 seconds +x% (5 Stacks) (Dungeon Gloves
Upon using Strength Skill, Strength Skill's Damage for 10 seconds +x% (5 Stacks) (Dungeon) Gloves
Upon using Bravery Skill, Bravery Skill's Damage for 10 seconds +x% (5 Stacks) (Dungeon) Gloves

Each effect has a certain %.
Weapon: For elite pieces the % ranges from 6 -10%, for unique pieces the % ranges from 11-15%. 13-15% is good.
Armor: For elite pieces the % ranges from 1 -5%, for unique pieces the % ranges from 6-10%. 8-10% is good.
Some effects can only be found on certain pieces and some of them are shared between all pieces. For example, “Attack/Attacked Damage +x%” is only found on the top pieces while “Damage dealt to Boss Monsters +x%” is found on all pieces.
    Effects you want

    For your Weapon:
    Optimal choice-> N/A (aim for rank 28 or 29)
2nd choice-> Damage dealt to Boss Monsters +13-15% or MP Cost reduction -13-15%
3rd choice -> Item Drop Rate +13-15% (if this is for your IDR character)
*if you are aiming for the void weapon and you get a r25+, you can keep that as a placeholder for yourself

    For your Top Piece:
Optimal choice -> Attack/Attacked Damage +8-10% (this effect is only found on top pieces)
2nd choice -> (attack/attacked damage pieces generally are a bit more expensive, so if you’re on a budget you can go for these effects instead, not having an attack/attacked damage piece will not ruin you) Damage dealt to Boss Monsters, MP Cost reduction, or Bravery, Strength, Tenacity or Flexibility (pick skill depending on your class) Skill Cooldown Time reduction.
3rd choice -> Item Drop Rate +8-10% (if this is for your IDR character)

    For your Bottom Piece:
Optimal choice -> Party's Physical/Magical (depending on your class) Attack Power +8-10%
    2nd choice -> Party's Critical +8-10% or Party's Maximize +8-10%
3rd choice -> Party's Additional Damage, Party's Damage Reduction, or Party's Attack Speed (these may be good if you’re focusing on PVP)
4th choice -> Item Drop Rate +8-10% (if this is for your IDR character)

    For your Gloves:
Optimal choice -> All skill damage (Hyper Active/Wedding skill excluded) +36-44%
    2nd choice -> Upon using [X] Skill, [X] Skill's Damage for 10 seconds +8-10%
X = choose from flexibility, tenacity, strength, or bravery depending on your class
If you are not sure what skill you should be stacking for your character, refer to this link:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...y9E/edit#gid=0
*these effects are no longer obtainable
2nd choice -> Item Drop Rate +8-10% (if this is for your IDR character)

    For your Shoes:
Optimal choice -> N/A (there aren’t any effects worth noting for the shoes)
2nd choice -> Damage dealt to Boss Monsters, MP Cost reduction, or Bravery, Strength, Tenacity or Flexibility (pick skill depending on your class) Skill Cooldown Time reduction.
3rd choice -> Item Drop Rate +8-10% (if this is for your IDR character)

In terms of importance, you should focus on getting your bottom piece and gloves first, then the top piece (if you’re going for attack/attacked damage), and then shoes. (This also means that when trading heroic weapon fragments to Glave, you should trade for bottom pieces and gloves first, then top pieces followed by shoes.)
    Line 3 Skill
The third line will give you a random skill. This includes all skills from base to 2nd job (including hyperactives and excluding transcendence skills). Unique pieces will give you a 10% damage boost to a skill while elite pieces will give you an 8% damage boost to a skill. You do not need to worry about this line, getting a skill that will actually be useful to you is extremely rare.
In addition to the three IDs, heroic gear comes in 3 colors: Red, Yellow and Blue (Wrath, Wisdom and Vision respectively). You can tell the color the of the piece by the actual color of the icon, or whether the gear says Wrath, Wisdom or Vision after you identify it.

Wrath, Wisdom and Vision pieces have different set effects. The set effect is determined by how many pieces in your set are of that color.
    Wrath:
    Type Elite Unique
    2 Piece Effect
    • All Skill Damage +3%
    • +3% Physical Attack Power
    • +3% Magical Attack Power
    • All Skill Damage +5%
    • +5% Physical Attack Power
    • +5% Magical Attack Power
    3 Piece Effect

    • Critical +715
    • Maximize +715
    • Attack Speed +715
    5 Piece Effect
    • All Skill Damage +6%
    • All Skill Damage +10%
    Wisdom:
    Type Elite Unique
    2 Piece Effect
    • MP Consumption -3% (Max 20%)
    • +3% Physical Attack Power
    • +3% Magical Attack Power
    • MP Consumption -5% (Max 20%)
    • +5% Physical Attack Power
    • +5% Magical Attack Power
    3 Piece Effect
    • Critical +429
    • Maximize +429
    • Attack Speed +429
    • Critical +715
    • Maximize +715
    • Attack Speed +715
    5 Piece Effect
    • MP Consumption -6% (Max 20%)
    • MP Consumption -10% (Max 20%)
    Vision:
    Type Elite Unique
    2 Piece Effect
    • All Skill Cooldown -3%
    • +3% Physical Attack Power
    • +3% Magical Attack Power
    • All Skill Cooldown -5%
    • +5% Physical Attack Power
    • +5% Magical Attack Power
    3 Piece Effect
    • Critical +429
    • Maximize +429
    • Attack Speed +429
    • Critical +715
    • Maximize +715
    • Attack Speed +715
    5 Piece Effect
    • All Skill Cooldown -6%
    • All Skill Cooldown -10%
Generally, you want at least 2 pieces from one color and at least 2 pieces from another color. Most commonly people go for 2 wrath (red) pieces and 2 wisdom (yellow) pieces. Vision (blue) is generally not sought for as much as the other two colors due to MP cost reduction (2 piece yellow set effect) and all skill damage (2 piece red set effect) being more important than skill cooldown reduction (2 piece blue set effect).

How to tell if a piece is worth keeping or dismantling
NOTE: Heroic mode use have a normal and hell mode. If you have any pieces from the old normal mode, you can dismantle them. (Gear is from the old normal mode if the required level is 85. All gear from the new heroic mode and from the old heroic hell mode have a required level of 90.) You can also discard the heroic gear pieces you got from the old heroic normal mode.

No.1 Elite or Unique? If Elite, dismantle.
      For weapons:
No.2 Is the rank 28 or 29 and/or is the effect 13-15% and not a trash effect? If not, dismantle. If so, keep.
      For armor:
No.2 Is the effect 8-10%? If not, dismantle.
No.3 Is the effect trash? If so, dismantle.
      (refer to table below)

      Effect tier:

*these are just suggested guidelines, you are free to use your own judgement to decide whether a piece is worth keeping or dismantling
*in general, these are guidelines for what is worth selling, if you get a piece that do not meet these guidelines, it means it’s not worth selling, but does NOT mean you cannot use it for yourself as a placeholder

      Is Heroic Gear worth it?

      Heroic Gear vs SD/4D
If you currently have SD or 4D gear, heroic gear is definitely an upgrade. The main thing making heroic gear better than SD/4D is the skill stacking effects found in the gloves. Those can give you up to a 50% damage boost to one skill tier. The all skill damage effect found in the gloves can give you a 44% damage boost to all skills- which is formidable. IB set effects only give you 7-10% all skill damage boost, the ereda warrior's chronicle gives you 10% damage boost to one skill tier and skill rings give you 20% damage boost to one skill tier, but heroic gear is offering you an extra 50% damage boost to one skill tier or 44% damage boost to all skills. In addition, the 2 piece set effect, the party boosts found in heroic bottom pieces, and the attack/attacked damage found in heroic top pieces gives an incredible amount of damage boost making the gear set way more impressive than SD or 4D.

You might choose 4D or SD over heroic if you are on a tight budget and you are focused on PVP. Heroic gear shines better in PVE over PVP because the skill stacking/all skill damage and attack/attacked damage effect is dungeon only, however, the 2 piece set effect and party boosts in the heroic bottom piece are applicable in PVP and there is a raw damage boost because the gear is higher grade. In regards to PVP, 4D gear and heroic gear are pretty much equal (or it's hard to say which one is better).

      Heroic Gear vs Elrianode Gear
Elrianode gear is an “upgrade” of heroic gear.

There are two main reasons why Elrianode Gear is better than heroic gear.
      1. The IDs of heroic gear cannot be changed, however for Elrianode gear you can change and fully customize each ID, so where in heroic gear you probably will only end up with a good effect, for Elrianode gear you can end up with a good rank, effect and a desirable skill. Being able to invest more damage in a specific skill can be a huge boost in your damage output. (Ex. Having up to 48% skill damage in Valkyrie's Javelin opposed to having no damage boost in that skill at all.)
      2. Elrianode Gear has a “4th line” offering various extra stats. One of these extra stats is Critical Damage, which is unsocketable and valuable to have in PVE. You can get up to a 36% critical damage boost- which is impressive considering IBs only give up to a 10% critical damage boost.
Also, for specific skill damage, you can get up to 12% instead of 10%. For attack/attacked damage you can get up to a 15% boost instead of 10%. For all skill damage, you can get up to 65% all skill damage boost instead of 44%. For party buffs, you can get up to a 15% boost instead of 10%, etc.

Elrianode Gear is not bankshareable. So if you plan on playing multiple characters or cannot fund multiple gear sets for multiple characters (and you want to play multiple characters), heroic gear is the better choice. Or, you can have an elrianode set for the characters or character you play the most, and use heroic gear for the others. Elrianode gear does require funding, but even with minimal funding, you do have the potential to make the gear stronger than heroic gear.

For more information on Elrianode gear, please refer to this guide HERE.

      Farming Heroic Gear
Heroic gear is very reliant on RNG, so it's hard to say when you'll finish completing your set and you won't know which pieces you'll be using until your whole set is finished. (Ex. You may get good wisdom shoes, but later your top, bottom and shoes might all be wisdom as well and you might have to switch out some pieces in order to have 2 pieces of another color.) I don't suggest socketing, enchaning, etc. your heroic pieces until you have finished your whole set or you're confident you won't switch the piece out (Ex. good effects with max % pieces). You probably want to complete a solid SD or 4D set before farming heroic gear.

I have a question Zack, from the heroic Equipment storage or the random drops you can get from the final boss, can you get unique? or is it only locked to elite? (because otherwise the grind to get 240 fragments and hope for good identification :P)

It's possible to get unique. Elite pieces are automatically bad.

What is the effect of the weapon? If it's good, it might be worth using. Do you have a solid 4D or SD weapon right now? If so, I personally think you should keep trying to get a higher ranked weapon (or aim for void), but r27 still works cause it is stronger than 4D.

(sorry for the late response) with those effects, I think it would be better to continue trying to get a higher ranked weapon, but in the end it's up to you

I have a rank 25 heroic sword which has a HA(BladeRain) +10% skill effect with +13% dmg every 10th attack effect. Is it still worth to get to rank 28-29 sword?

just an update. I got a rank 29 heroic wisdom sword but with phoenix talon +10% and debuff duration -13%. Is the heroic rank really the highest priority basis whether a weapon would be good or not? I'm planning to use this over my blade rain sword if that's the case.

And about the armor, is it okay if I use r15 heroic armors as opposed to higher ranks? I main PvE

owo congrats on your r29 weapon! I would go ahead and use it
I personally have a strength stacking 10% piece but it's only rank 2 lol
You don't need to be worried about rank, especially if you're focused on PVE

Hello! Thank you a lot for the guide, it really helped me!

I have a question though: does "Next Attack's damage after 10th attack" only apply to normal/command attacks?

how come the ignore phys/mag defense power isn't desirable? i thought ignoring the defense on those super tanky elrianode mobs would be all the rage.

oh, somebody told me in discord that it's because it ignores a percent of the defense instead of just a flat number. KoG is bad at programming.

            Nice guide. Just 3 observation:
            1) Rank 12 = SD
            2) Rank 22 = 4D
            3) I don't think people could only use heroic weapons if rank 28-29, those ranks are actually overrated. The difference in atk between rank 25 and 29 isn't even 1k but the difference in price is actually high. You could perfectly use a heroic rank weap if 25 until reach void unless youre going to stay heroic weapon until forever or you wanted to sell it, only then you should worry about getting the best rank possible. The effects on the weapons doesn't matter that much either, if have a really good or a good effect is fine, its a plus/bonus but if not you don't actually need to worry about it, for use that is.

Thank you for pointing the first two things out. Yes, I agree that if you want to farm for a void weapon, r25- regardless of effect, is a good enough place holder. I just feel like, like you stated, that if you wanted to sell the piece or you're not going for a better weapon after heroic that you should aim for higher ranks/better effects.

what are the effects of both weapons? are you planning on going for the void weapon? what are you goals in the game (to clear 11-X dungeons, void dungeon, PVP, heroic, etc.)?

I'd only push for a higher heroic rank/better effect if you don't plan to go for anything higher than a heroic weapon. If you're going for a void weapon, I think r24 is a good enough placeholder for now. Though in the end it's up to you want you wanna do.

What would you say is a good heroic set for pvp..? like attack speed for 'party' additional damage? etc?

For bottom pieces party's MA/PA would probably still be better. For the other pieces you'd probably just want effects that are applicable in arena as well (generally MP Cost Reduction) and aim for higher ranks. Though in general, I personally don't think it's worth it to make a heroic set just for PVP (Maybe go for mp cost reduction on the top instead of a/a, but probably still going for a skill stacking glove so the set can still be used in PVE). I think it's worth making another gear set just for PVP (cause the sockets you want for PVP and PVE are different) but not so much making a PVP orientated heroic set (mainly due to costs, but if that's not an issue ignore this).

I got 2 unique claymore from the daily chest. First is r25 with MP cost -12% and Eternal Fire skill dmg +10%, random effect: all attribute +20
and second one is r23 with dmg to boss +12% and phantom ... (that draining HP cable, i forgot the name even when i main CrA) dmg +10% with random: +3 magic atk lvl
            whats better for my CrA?

I personally would go with the r25 claymore. I believe CRA stacks brandish breaker and ejection buster so I wouldn't go for the r23 because of the skill. Though in the end it's up to you o/
